driving through ole miss

today we left memphis and drove south, south, south. we took the same kind of not-really-a-highway highway first. en route, S found a fork in the road, so she picked it up.

mostly we saw irony... mobile homes on foundations, with RVs almost the size of the house parked behind, or barbie mansions next to tar paper shacks. we watched for cows, daddy cows and "goochie" cows (as in "goochie goochie goo"). we saw a modern mile-long castle.

(nissan built it.)

finally, we came to the bayou, and saw houses, even whole highways on stilts.

and then stopped in city park.

and played!

and enjoyed the summerish evening (mosquitoes included).

(the building is a public toilet. so pretty, you'd never know the smell from back home... ;) )

  1. Wonderful! I'm so glad you guys are back on the road, free from traffic violations & exploring the world. LOVE the fork in the road :)
