driving southward

we tried route 61S (a local road that goes parallel to 55 and the big muddy) and enjoyed seeing the sights.









and a seriously questionable "traveling circus" in a strip mall parking lot.






beware, the sign says, cats spray and ponies bite. ('course, so would i if i was with them...) the saddest was the red kangaroo in a wire cage too small to more than stand or lay down, so we moved on.

and proof we are far from new england...




sadly we missed the chance to see the mud river park, but perhaps everyone needed a little down time.

tomorrow we head to new orleans! yay!!
